Dress-Ups

Marli has been loving the dress-ups lately! I think she thinks the whole month of October is for dressing up. Any time she can, she is wearing something sparkly, twirly, or just plain funny. It doesn't help that she is also loving princesses right now so she has to put on her dress everytime she watches their movie. This is one of my favorite parts of having a little girl. I love watching her in her fantasy land as she pretends she is a princess, fairy, ballerina, or whatever other pretty thing she is admiring that day.

Right now Marli's favorite movies are Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. She always starts dancing when watching the movie. Then she will ask me to sing the music that goes with each princess. The other day Marli asked me the cutest thing, she said "Mom, will you sing the song so I can dance with my prince?" When I asked her who her prince was she of course answered "Daddy!". So here is a video of Marli dancing with her prince.

Golfing at the "Diamond Castle"

Marli has a Barbie movie about a diamond castle, so every time we pass trafalga she says "Look Mom! There's the diamond castle. I want to go there!" So last weekend we finally took her golfing at the "Diamond Castle". To be honest, I think she was a little disappointed when she saw it close up - she kept wanting to go inside it. We still had a great time golfing - Marli had a huge celebration every time she hit the ball in the hole (usually from only inches away).

Laney was a good sport and just watched us while all bundled up in the stroller

APX Party 2010

This year's end-of-the-year party was a Black Tie Event. It was really fun seeing everyone all dressed up. I felt like I was at prom again. We went to dinner first as an office, then went to the "Event" at the Salt Lake Country Club. Reno looked great in his tux and it was soo fun to have a fancy night out!

We had such a fun group of wives in our office this year. All the girls looked beautiful in their dresses!
The next night NitroCircus came to APX, and I had no clue who they were:)

They put on an awesome show! Marli loved seeing all the motorcycles "flying" in the air, but her favorite part was seeing the Jazz Bear.

Marli can be quite a pill these days when it comes to taking family pictures so I had to take this pic to show that she really was having a good time.

Thanksgiving Point

Last month I went with a couple of my sisters and our kids to the Children's Gardens and Thanksgiving Point. These 4 had so much fun together! I love when Marli gets together with her cousins. All the girls her age have an older brother that is 5, so Marli has adopted Seth (or "Fef" as she likes to call him) as her older brother. I was laughing as I looked through these pictures because Marli has her sunglasses on in most of them. She is very adamant about wearing her sunglasses when its "too bright" outside.

Home Sweet Home

This has been a crazy month! The girls and I have been home for almost a month now, and Reno is finally home for good!! We flew home the beginning of September, and Reno was planning to stay in Alabama and work for a few more weeks, but the last day of the summer we found out his grandma died so he ended up flying home with us. While he was home we had his grandma's funeral, Laney's baby blessing and of course he fit in a quick motorcycle ride with his dad down to Zion's. Then it was back to work in Alabama and Georgia for a couple of weeks. We are so happy to all finally be home and settled in for the rest of the year.
Since the weather has been so nice lately, we went up the canyon with Troy and Jodi for a nice little campfire and some s'mores. Marli loved being in the mountains, I'm not sure if it was the beautiful scenery, the marshmallows, or letting Noah chase her with sticks that made it so fun.

A Day Off

The hardest part about every summer is that I hardly ever get to see my husband, let alone have a decent conversation with him. So when Reno got home for good last week he told me he had a special date planned for me the next day. And oh was it special!!! We went up to Park City and got a couples massage and spa treatment at the St. Regis hotel, which is the 5-star hotel that his sister Sutton works at. We had a wonderful day at the spa, did some shopping on Main St., then headed back up to the hotel for dinner at the J&G Grill. It was such a fabulous day, and I think the best part about it was Reno didn't bring his phone! I love Reno and am so thankful he works so hard for our family, but I'm even more thankful that he would take a day off and spend it with me! This is us riding the "funicular" that you have to ride up to even get to the hotel. It is literally built up in the mountain, and so beautiful!!

Laney's Blessing

We finally blessed Laney the first Sunday of September. It was a beautiful day and Reno gave a beautiful blessing! We waited until we were home from Alabama so that our families could be there so Laney was a little bigger than the other babies being blessed that day. We're just happy that everyone could come so that Reno had a lot of help holding her up during the blessing :).

The Fam

The Food :)

I think these 2 pictures are pretty funny. We had Laney sitting in the bumbo and covered it with her dress.
